Help Women & Children Support Group

After childbirth, this should be the happiest time for new mothers and fathers. Unfortunately for some, this can be a painful period. Not all mothers have a normal birth for their baby. For some the actual birth can be the start of their problems.Whilst caesarean deliveries are on the increase for whatever reason, the original outcome is meant to be the safe delivery of the healthy baby, and for the mother to be safe and well. But this can be quite traumatic for some women who may feel that they have been deprived of a natural birth, or they feel so traumatised by the actual operation and the way they were treated during the whole procedure that they need help and support. Even some intervention procedures during a normal labour and delivery can also be traumatic. Help Women and Children Support Group is there to help women who have suffered trauma after childbirth and other postnatal illnesses. There are people ready to support, inform and encourage counselling if necessary. Doctors’ surgeries and clinics may be the first place where women may be seen and diagnosed with this condition. Anyone who runs a mother & toddler group, a Church group or any other social meeting, where the attendees may be too ashamed or shy to mention their problems, may have their suspicions about new mothers, should also be aware that
there is assistance out there. There is a free service for attendees, parents and members within the Help Women and Children’s Group. There are training workshop sessions for organisers to recognise and help women who are suffering from trauma and all kind of abuse. The book Real Healing
After Caesarean gives information on how to recognise the symptoms and is free for health professionals this month. All you need to send is £3.99 for P&P with your details. Women need to know that there is help available. If they need counselling for longer treatment, contacting the counselling centre for Help Women and Children they will be referred on. However, they are in desperate need of accommodation, and are looking for a property
near Surbiton Station, so people can have easy access by train and other public transport, to establish a Centre. This could be a house to buy, or an office block or a Church may have a spare room that could be hired for their office. It would be ideal for their Counselling Service for the many women who need the support. If you think you can help or if you want some help and support yourself
