About Us

Help Women and Children* is a Christian UK support group members of ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors) working together with Peruvian charity Help Children in Lima, Peru. We are a charitable company run exclusively by volunteers and therefore in constant need of funding and donations. We rely on our book sale and fundraising activities to cover running costs.

Martha Jesty set up Help Women and Children in 2004 after suffering from post natal Post Traumatic Stress Disorder herself. Dozens of women got in touch with Martha after she distributed her leaflets about her traumatic story. Since then she has guided hundreds more towards their own steps of recovery through her counselling sessions and her book Real Healing After Caesarean. Martha, a committed Christian and a professional counsellor, member of the BACP** (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the APSCC (Association for Pastoral and Spiritual Care & Counselling) , runs the free Counselling Centre for Women together with other professionals in the field.

Health clinics, hospitals, surgeries, churches, primary schools and all organizations that help and work with women and their families can directly refer them to our Counselling Centre for Women based in Surbiton. We run workshops for health professionals and Christian leaders once a year and every Tuesday morning a small group of Christian mothers meets for prayer.
